Gangwon FC and Chuncheon City are narrowing their differences over the hosting of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League Elite (ACLE) home game.
Gangwon Province and Chuncheon City held a second working-level meeting on the hosting of ACLE home games on Monday and discussed specific issues. After the second working-level meeting, Chuncheon City announced that it will send an official letter of hope to host ACLE home games as soon as possible.
The meeting was held after the first working-level meeting on the 16th, and the two sides exchanged opinions on the conditions of the meeting in a more friendly atmosphere.
Chuncheon City said that it is practically difficult to pay the hosting support fund considering various reviews related to subsidies and the timing of the city council's supplementary budget, and that it is necessary to specify related matters in the future home game agreement with Gangwon.
Chuncheon City requested that Gangwon prepare for large-scale facility-related costs such as the removal of variable seats and restoration of the stadium's facilities.
Chuncheon City also discussed ways to communicate that the conditions of the K-League game in the first half of 2026 could be affected by the characteristics of the ACLE game held over two years, minimize risks by advancing AFC's due diligence, and joint countermeasures in case it is not possible to hold the game.
Gangwon-do and Chuncheon-si decided to hold a third working-level meeting at 10:30 a.m. on the 23rd after internal review of the issues derived from the meeting. 메이저사이트
